True to our cooperative roots which were based on democratic control, Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op provides its owners with numerous opportunities to participate actively in making decisions, setting policies, and developing our co-op's place as a unique, sustainable business in our community.

Join the Co-op Owner Work Program

Co-ops provide owners with the chance to learn the inner workings of a business and to participate in various levels of corporate governance. You can choose to be as involved as you like. As a Co-op owner worker, you can become an active participant in governance, store, community and outreach activities. If you work 6 hours per month, you will receive a 10% discount on your purchases.

If you would like to take an active part in SNFC, join the Co-op's Owner Work Program. All you need to do is:

• Be a Co-op owner in good standing.
• Attend a Get to Know Us! Co-op Orientation & Owner Worker Training. In the orientation you will learn more about the benefits of being a Co-op owner and how to become an owner worker. You will also have the opportunity to sample food and products available at the Co-op. To find out upcoming orientation dates and to pre-register, please go to the Customer Service Desk in the store or call (916) 455-2667.

Owner Worker Benefits

• If you (and/or your household shopper) work 6 hours per month, you will receive a 10% discount on all purchases.
• You can become an active participant in governance, store, community and outreach activities.
• You will have the opportunity to learn about your store, its products, staff, operations, and to share the skills that you have with others.
• You will have the opportunity to make friends, build community, and have fun!

Co-op Quarterly Owner Meetings

Each quarter Co-op owners are invited to attend an owner meeting to learn more about what is happening at the Co-op from our Board of Directors and our general manager and to enjoy the company of other Co-op owners.
