One out of every two women and one in four men over fifty will experience an osteoporotic fracture in a lifetime. Like living coral, bone is constantly and simultaneously degrading and rebuilding. Osteoporosis is an imbalance in skeletal turnover where bone resorption (breakdown) exceeds bone formation.
