Kids and Teens in the Kitchen: Quick Breads and Yeast Breads
Saturday, February 02 2013, 10:00am - 12:30pm

Cooking is a skill that can be developed over a lifetime. Young people get a head start in these fun, hands-on classes. Class ends with the students enjoying the dishes they have prepared together in class. Students will learn valuable skills in menu planning, using fresh seasonal ingredients, knife skills, measuring and working as a team.

There is nothing more enticing than bread fresh from the oven. In this class, students will learn the essential steps of bread baking. We will make monkey bread with cinnamon and sugar; quick cheese bread; almost "no-knead" bread, and banana-coconut bread with macadamia nuts.

Instructor: Jill Simmons

$45, $35 Co-op owners

Note: Suggested ages 9–15. This is a hands-on class.
