Preserving the Harvest with Honey
Saturday, June 23 2012, 3:00pm - 5:30pm

Canning seasonal fruit is a great way to preserve the bounty of the season, save money over the coming year, and create unique and flavorful products. In this hands-on class, Janet—herself a home beekeeper and food preserver—will share her techniques for replacing cane sugar with locally made honey in your favorite canning recipes. We’ll taste honey from Janet’s hives and make honey-strawberry jam and cherries in honey syrup. Each student will take home a jar of each to enjoy!

Note: This is a hands on class.
