The Urban Design Alliance of Sacramento sponsors Design Dialogues once every two months.  Each dialogue covers a different topic related to urban design in our city. The next dialogue topic, "Design Challenges for Urban Agriculture," will be Wednesday, July 22nd from 6 to 7:30pm at the AIA office Central Valley Conference Room, 1400 S Street.

The main presenter will be Bill Maynard, the City of Sacramento's Community Garden Coordinator. This month's dialogue is envisioned as a workshop/charrette, during which time participants will break into small groups to brainstorm and design 6 different edible urban gardens. Each site will have opportunities and constraints associated with it (for example, contaminated soil, water access, curb appeal, etc). We want to see how creative participants can be in overcoming the many obstacles for small-scale urban agriculture in Sacramento!
