Candidates Statement of Richard Driver

I am excited to run for the SNFC Board. I am passionate about good food and community. I believe the Co-op is more than a store, it is an anchor of our amazing community. I hope to have the opportunity to serve as a member of the board during this exciting time of change and growth.

I have supported the Co-op for over twenty years. It is now time for me to expend more energy to support the Coop in this time of transition.

My priorities if elected are:

  • Ensure our store continues to provide quality sustainable food and products to the community.
  • Ensure the SNFC’s finances stay healthy by employing sound fiscal policies.
  • Make sure the transition to the new store location is done efficiently.
  • Grow membership throughout Sacramento’s diverse community.
  • Protect member benefits such as the Senior Discount and Anti-Depression Fridays.

I serve the Co-op as a member of the SNFC Finance Committee. I have a BA from UC Davis in International Relations and an MBA from Sac State. Currently, I work for an education advocacy organization. Previously, I worked for Sacramento City College as an Outreach Center Supervisor. During my nine years with the college, I was a member of the Budget and Development Committees.

Thank you for considering me for the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op Board. I would very much appreciate your vote!
