Now that proper notification has been given to the Sacramento Planning Department and neighbors, we’d like to share more details about our proposal to relocate our store.

The proposed location of the new building is just across the freeway from our existing store on a parcel bordered by 28th and 29th Street on the west and east, and by R and S Streets on the north and south. (It’s the spot adjacent to Temple Coffee/Revolution Wine and the County of Sacramento—Department of Human Assistance .) The store and main parking area would replace the parking lot that currently serves the County’s Department of Human Assistance; additional parking would be available next to the store in a new four-level garage to be constructed on the vacant lots immediately to the west of Temple.

Projected to open in June 2014, the store would have 22,000 square feet of space on the ground floor with a mezzanine level of approximately 15,000 square feet. The accompanying map and drawing show the location and conceptual schematics of what the structure might look like.

Before we move forward, however, we’ll need to obtain financing and approval from our owners. Your Board of Directors believes it is critical that our owners are invested in this crucial decision for our store. That is why we’ll be holding information sessions to answer your questions about the location, finances, and other details. In addition, we’ll post information on our website, Facebook page, and continue to update you via email prior to the vote, which we expect to be held in March.

We are pleased to have found a location close to our existing store that will provide for substantially more store space and parking. This new location will allow us to serve you, our local growers, and our community even better. We look forward to sharing more information and getting your input in the weeks ahead.
